Happy Birthday Chris!

Today is Chris' birthday! Chris never makes a fuss over his birthday, but I love celebrating his day. I can't even describe how thankful and blessed I am to have Chris as my husband. He keeps me grounded, calm(er) and makes me laugh all the time! Our girls adore him! They love to look for him out the window when they hear him pull up in the afternoon or run and open the door for him when he's walking up to the door. Hannah looks forward to playing with Chris uninterrupted after Ava goes to sleep :-) And Ava enjoys sitting on Papa's lap and sucking her thumb (and getting flipped around and thrown around). He brings joy and laughter to his girls' lives and I can't wait to see him with his son!

Chris, thank you for your consistent love and dedication to the Lord. Thank you for leading our family and for showing us unconditional love.

WE LOVE YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Letter Sounds and Snow!

We had some snow Tuesday...which I really doubted we would have...this morning Chris and Hannah made a little Forest Glen snowman.

Ava is recognizing her letters and learning their sounds. She knows quite a few of them. I didn't pick a good time to record her...she was really into her bottle :-) But here's a short clip:

Happy Birthday Kate!

Today is Kate's 28th birthday! My beautiful bride is always talking about how she can't believe she's slowly getting older. I know how she feels. When you're in your late 20s, you start to realize that you aren't in college anymore and that your circle of friends begins to be a little more seasoned. That's a blessing in disguise as God places before us people to learn the secrets of life from, and people to teach those same secrets! What I love about Kate "getting older" is that she continues to become seasoned in every facet of our lives. I knew she was going to be a wonderful wife and mother when we were beginning our lives together, but I never imagined that I would get to experience first-hand such an amazing woman set the foundation for our marriage and our family. I am truly blessed to be your husband and best friend! I'm excited for every birthday we get to celebrate together as we both become refined in the ministry God gives us. Marriage, camp, parenthood, you name it! I love you so much Kate! Happy birthday, my love!

Hannah's Sense of Smell and Target

Strange title I know! Well I'm wide awake and it's 3am so I thought I'd blog a bit and maybe I'd get sleepy. This weekend I will post some updated pics.

Chris always says I have a "nose like a bloodhound" because I'm always saying "do you smell that?" or "what's that smell?" etc. It seems Hannah has her mama's nose too. Here are some of her little sayings:

"My hands smell like my puppies!" -as she runs to wash them

"Mom let the dogs out, they are making my nose stink" (they've been in a lot this week because it's been rainy and they do need a bath soon)

"Mom, spray that stuff that makes it smell good in here, I made it stinky!" (after going potty)

"AVA IS STINKY!!!!!"

"My nose likes that smell" (anything yummy smelling)

She makes me smile :-) I've also registered for our baby boy at Target. We went one night as a family and I had fun picking out some blue things and diapers of course. Plus a couple things like a new bouncer etc as some of ours either broke or needed to be replaced. I'm 32 weeks today! Yippee! I'm hoping he will try and tie his sister and come at 38 weeks...or maybe beat her by a day or so...

Have a great weekend,
Kate
