Lately every night bedtime with Hannah has become quite a chore.
I do need to re-establish her bedtime routine...having the girls sharing a room makes this a little more tricky but we can still do it.
The real issue is for at least an hour after she's in bed there is crying on and off and whining and needing someone to lay with her and rub her back etc. Which I do all of these things and Chris does too and we don't mind. But for weeks this has been going on and it seems to be getting more dramatic...which results in waking up Ava.
So tonight about 90mins after we had put Hannah in bed, rubbed her back, told her stories, got her water etc she was still crying. So my solution: Jersey. Jersey is our lab/terrier mix who is SUPER cuddly. If you sit on the ground she will gladly (and quickly) run over and "curl up" (she over-flows) on your lap. Tonight I'm letting Jersey sleep in the girls room. Mistake? We'll see.
Hannah is almost asleep and so is Jersey. She's only been in there 15 mins. I may regret this tomorrow...
Goodnight!

Happy Birthday Ava!
Birthday cookies made by Aunt Amy and Hannah (more b-day pics posted later today)
Look at that precious face!
She can really turn on the tears when she wants to!
My sweet Ava Lynn is one! Thinking of her birth is one of my favorite memories. Through God's grace, I was able to have a successful VBAC and hold my precious girl for the first time. Ava has so much personality in her tiny little body (she's really a chunk but she's still my little girl)! She loves to snuggle and everyday we have at least 15mins of solid snuggle time right after nap. Hannah is a terrific big sister and Ava adores her, but she can still hold her own! I love watching Ava's personality develop and see the goodness and love already so evident in her heart. I'm so excited to see how the Lord will use her and mold her into a young lady. He's already at work! To my sweet Ava: You are such a blessing to our family! You are fearfully and wonderfully made! I love being your Mommy!
Happy Birthday!
Love forever & always,
Mommy
Ava Lynn!!! I can't believe it has already been a year! Gosh, that day was such a rush with cleaning up from the storm and rushing back to you and Mommy in College Station before the sun came up that 17th of September. But, it was such a blessed day to have my sweet Ava girl joining us in this great big world. I'll never forget seeing your sweet little face for the first time as you looked at me in a way that said you were now ready for me to be your Papa. Of course, I proudly accept the reward of loving, teaching, laughing and yes, one day disciplining you as my princess daughter. Thank you Lil' Lynn for the precious memories over the last year, and I cannot wait to add to the album of captured moments with my Sweet Ava! Happy 1st Birthday Princess Ava!
Love,
Papa

All About Ava
Ava has started some new things!
-She snuggles and kisses her 'babies' now. It is so sweet!
-Crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything...but now she will let go for a few seconds and stand there. Sometimes I can say "no hands" and she'll let go and smile at me standing there big and tall!
-Ava loves to dance to music. But in the video below I only got little wiggles... normally she will really move! :-)
-Hannah and Ava play together a lot...mostly when they are supposed to be going to sleep.
-She pushes chairs and toys around to help her walk. So our kitchen chairs are constantly rearranged!
-Ava is our little mimic. She likes to make silly sounds and tries to say some words but most of the time they still sound like "da da da."
-Some words that I think she knows are:
Please "peas peas peas"
Thank you "da do"
Jump "duh duh (while jumping)"
-She makes kissey sounds now and can high five and blow kisses too.
I love this age. It's so much fun! She'll be one next Thursday!
Here are some videos of sweet Ava Lynn: (push pause on music to hear video)
Dance Ava! She wasn't real interested this time.

Phase 1 Room Changes
We are starting to move things around in the girls room. Hannah had not been sleeping well in her toddler bed so we moved her into the twin bed. I still want to add a headboard (we are using it like a daybed) but for now we are using her "princess circle net." She seems to be sleeping better with all the extra room. Now our front bedroom is a "catch all" room. Eventually it will be a nursery...but for now it's where I'm sorting through old clothes, boxing some things up and storing extra junk. Here are some pictures (my flash was being weird so the coloring is off):Ava puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. I'm on constant patrol.
With Love,
Kate

New News
I'm very excited to share that baby Gomez #3 is on it's way! We found out we were expecting in late July and today we had a sonogram with a good strong heart beat. Baby (I had a dream last night I found out it was triplets!) was wiggling around and I feel very blessed and relieved. I'm looking forward to all of the changes (some more than others) and meeting our new little one next spring. Our due date hasn't been firmly set but we think early April...I'll know more tomorrow after my doctor appointment.
Lots of Love,
All of us
